Empowering Luxembourg’s Digital Ecosystem: Building the Interactive Event Calendar for MyConnectivity

Our recent collaboration with MyConnectivity—a key player in Luxembourg’s digital transformation—offered us the perfect opportunity to deliver on this mission. Here’s how we helped MyConnectivity bridge the gap between the telecom and ICT community and their audience with a seamless, interactive event calendar.
The Challenge: Connecting a Fast-Moving Digital Community
MyConnectivity, launched in 2021 by the SMC and LU-CIX Management GIE, is at the heart of Luxembourg’s 5G and ultra-high-speed broadband strategies. As a neutral entity, their mission is to avoid digital divides and foster socio-economic development for all.
To better serve professionals and enthusiasts in the telecom and ICT sectors, MyConnectivity needed a modern, user-friendly event calendar. The goal? Make it easy for anyone to discover, track, and add major industry events—locally and across Europe—to their personal or professional calendars, directly from the MyConnectivity website.
Project Goals
- Upgrade the events page to an interactive, downloadable calendar.
- Populate it with major telecom and ICT events across Luxembourg and Europe.
- Enable calendar integration with Google, Outlook, and iCal for real-time updates.
- Enhance user engagement and provide valuable industry information.
- Empower the MyConnectivity team with a secure, easy-to-use admin panel.
Our Approach
1. Discovery & Planning
We began with a deep dive into MyConnectivity’s needs, existing website architecture (WordPress-based), and the expectations of their audience. Our team mapped out user journeys for both event seekers and the internal admin team, focusing on simplicity and accessibility.
2. Designing a Seamless User Experience
We designed an intuitive, responsive interface compatible with desktops, tablets, and smartphones. Users can view events in monthly, weekly, or list formats, and filter by type, date, or location. Each event features comprehensive details and direct links to registration pages.
3. Robust Calendar Integration
One of the core requirements was seamless integration with Outlook, Google Calendar, and iCal. We engineered a dynamic system: users can download individual events or subscribe to the entire calendar, ensuring that any updates are automatically reflected in their chosen calendar app.
4. Admin Empowerment
We built a secure, user-friendly admin panel allowing MyConnectivity’s team to add, edit, or remove events with ease. Bulk import via CSV streamlines the process, making it simple to keep the calendar current with industry happenings.
5. Performance, Security, and Scalability
We optimized the calendar for fast load times and smooth interactions, regardless of device. Security best practices were implemented to protect both user data and the admin backend.
6. Testing and Support
Comprehensive testing was conducted across browsers and devices to guarantee a flawless experience. After launch, we provided ongoing support and maintenance to ensure the calendar remains a reliable resource.
